Project overview
A browser-based color selection experience for PFLUON cookware coatings, built as the 3D Coating Digital Color Card project. A real frying pan is rendered in 3D, and the visitor chooses the interior coating and the exterior coating independently from the two color bars under the model. Every color carries its real coating code and series — CERAMICAL, COOKMARK and CERAMICL for the interior, SILIMAX for the exterior. Three interior speckle finishes and five exterior surface finishes, from pressed gloss and reflective to high gloss, sparkle and matte, are applied straight onto the 3D surface, while a color-code search and a color picker panel let buyers jump to a specific coating. The whole experience runs in the browser behind a single shareable link, with switchable English and Chinese labels and the maker’s own version and calibration notes built in.
What an interactive product color selector is
Let customers explore color options directly on the product and see each choice update in real time in the browser.
Physical color cards are expensive to produce and out of date the moment they are printed. An interactive product color selector puts the whole color library on the product itself: buyers rotate the 3D model, switch the interior coating and the exterior coating independently, compare depth, gloss and speckle finishes, and read the exact coating code behind every option. One link replaces the sample kit — and every market sees the same color language.

What we built — in this project
- Full-window 3D stage — a real mouse drag orbits the cookware model, and the mouse wheel zooms in and out on the coating surface
- Interior and exterior coatings selected independently — two separate color bars under the model, each one changing only its own coating
- The current selection is named on screen with its real coating code — for example C8445-8P096/9172 Brass on the interior and A5500-21920 TrafficWhite on the exterior
- Both coating bars exercised click by click on the live project — 21 interior colors across the CERAMICAL, COOKMARK and CERAMICL series and 21 exterior colors in the SILIMAX series; selecting a color applies it to the 3D pan and refreshes the on-screen coating code
- Three interior speckle finishes built on two-tone spray — first speckle, second speckle, or both layered together — applied straight onto the 3D interior surface
- Five exterior surface finishes — pressed gloss, reflective, high gloss, sparkle and matte — switched directly on the 3D model
- Color-code search — type a coating code and pick the matching color straight from the result list
- A color picker panel with a hue slider and a pick area, opened from the color bar under the model
- Three cookware models switchable from the product bar
- English and Chinese labels switchable in one click, with the maker’s version and calibration notes and a contact card built into the same page
